DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe aim of the course is to increase participants’ abili
 ty to examine\, assess\, and utilise ECMWF output products and to provide 
 advanced training on the operational aspects of the ECMWF forecasting syst
 em. It is directed towards users who are (or will be) using ECMWF products
  either directly as forecasting staff or in research and development work.
  The course aims to help users get maximum benefit from the Centre's produ
 cts.\n\nLectures on a variety of aspects of the ECMWF forecasting system a
 nd ECMWF forecasting products will be complemented with practical sessions
  where participants will work in small groups with an expert trainer to as
 sess ECMWF forecasts in real case study situations. Participants will also
  learn how to effectively use web applications for data visualisation.\n\n
 Participants will be required to complete pre-course activities which will
  take up to 12 hours of self-study. These activities include completing on
 line e-learning modules\, creating a poster or presentation on how ECMWF p
 roducts are currently used by the participants and contributing to online 
 discussion forums. The completion of these tasks will ensure all participa
 nts have the knowledge to get the most out of the interactive part of the 
 course and it will also help the trainers to better understand what you wo
