DESCRIPTION:BackgroundUEF2024 was different from the usual 'Using ECMWF’
 s Forecasts' event. In 2024\, it was an online only event spanning two day
 s – Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 June 2024. The reason for this year’s f
 ormat and duration is that in 2025 ECMWF will reach its 50th anniversary\,
  so the whole of 2025 will serve to highlight what has been achieved so fa
 r and how to continue to deliver the best possible data in the midst of th
 e many challenges and opportunities the world is facing. Part of the anniv
 ersary events will include an in-person and online 'Using ECMWF’s Foreca
 sts' event (in Bologna in September 2025). Further details will be announc
 ed in due course.FormatThe two-day online event in 2024 was packed with in
 sightful updates on ECMWF products and services. Especially information on
  the upcoming 49r1 model cycle and the progress on our innovative activiti
 es on Machine Learning and AI.Further InformationUser engagement is a key 
 part of ECMWF\, therefore\, to complement UEF2024 we aim to run small scal
 e side events/meetings at other meteorological events in the second half o
 f 2024 so we can listen to our forecast users in-person and gather feedbac
