c model upgrade at the Data Centre in Bologna\, IFS Cycle 49r1\, is schedu
led for November 2024. 49r1 brings major changes to the IFS model and dat
a assimilation system\, including among many others: assimilation of 2m te
mperature observations and Land-surface model updates.Cycle 49r1 brings th
e change in frequency for medium and extended range re-forecast systems. B
oth will run  over past 20 years\, on the fixed days of the month\, with
medium range running every four days\, and extended range running every tw
o days. With IFS Cycle 49r1\, the resolution of the wave model will change
to 9km (Tco1279) grid in the medium range and 36 km (Tco319)\, to match th
e atmospheric model. In this webinar we will give an overview on the techni
cal changes\, explain how to get and use test data\, and highlight some pr
actical considerations linked to the implementation. The presentation will
be followed by a Q&A session.  This webinar will take place on Wednesday
