21st ECMWF workshop on high performance computing in meteorology
Call for Abstracts
-
Opening day
-
Submission deadline
We welcome abstract submissions on topics including, but not limited to:
- HPC architectures and their role in meteorological applications
- Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and data-driven approaches in meteorology – aligning conventional HPC and AI/ML techniques to benefit weather and climate
- Energy efficiency and sustainable computing in weather forecasting
- The future of exascale computing and emerging technologies
- Digital twins of the Earth
- Improving workflows and pipelines
- Software sustainability and maintenance - sharing best practices for open collaborative code development
- Advances in numerical weather prediction and climate modelling
These topics are not exhaustive but aim to provide guidance to allow the agenda to be collated. If you have a proposal that would align with the theme of “Past, Present and Future of HPC in Meteorology” opportunities, please do submit an abstract submission for consideration by the organising committee. We are keen to receive submissions that will allow interactive Bird-of-a-Feather style formats for some sessions in the agenda to openly debate some of the global common challenges facing HPC and the NWP communities whilst we have experts from the sites to pool their knowledge and understanding to exchange ideas.
In parallel, there will be other events taking place during the week in Bologna, so we welcome presentations that might appeal to a broader audience to enhance networking opportunities.
Please note that submitting an abstract is NOT the same as registering for the event; this must be done separately via the registration form. Link in the menu.
