The ECMWF AI Weather Quest is an international competition leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to advance weather forecasting. During the JJA Testing Period (15 May – 13 August 2025), participants can trial forecast submissions and self-evaluate their performance in a non-competitive environment.
To support this phase, ECMWF is hosting two interactive one-hour webinars on 7 May 2025 (morning and afternoon sessions). Participants can choose to attend either session. These webinars will provide:
- An overview of the number of registrants in the competition.
- Step-by-step demonstrations on accessing training data, submitting forecasts, and self-evaluating results using the AI Weather Quest Python Package.
- Guidance on engaging with the Quest during the JJA Testing Period, including how to connect with the community through the forum.
- A dedicated Q&A session with the organisers.
This webinar will be recorded. By registering, you consent to the recording and understand that the recording may be shared with attendees and for future reference.
