Using ECMWF's Forecasts (UEF2026)

UEF2026 focuses on the following thematic areas:

• Temperature Forecasting Applications and Products - showcasing the development, evaluation, and operational applications of temperature forecasting across timescales.
• Case Studies - examining temperature-related case studies with a particular focus on extremes, heatwave and coldwave, events looking at forecast evolution, predictability, uncertainty, and performance across lead times.
• Innovation in Temperature Prediction - exploring new approaches to temperature forecasting particularly extremes, including machine learning and hybrid modelling, high-resolution simulations, and emerging capabilities.
• From Forecast to Impact - investigating how temperature forecasts are communicated, interpreted, and applied in decision-making across timescales. Including examining the links between weather forecasting, heat and cold related impact forecasting, climate monitoring, and longer-term temperature variability and change.
