DestinE Co-Design Workshop

Brussels | Belgium | 8-9 June 2026

Description

8 June, 09:00 - 17:00, Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium / 9 June, 9:00 - 12:00, Maison de la Poste, Tour & Taxis

This 1.5 day co-design workshop will place on 8 and 9 June before the 5th DestinE User Exchange. It brings together developers for hands-on exploration of how DestinE can be applied across different impact sectors.

Deep-dive sessions within the workshop will focus on selected topics of interest for developers and users allowing to work directly with several components of the DestiE system - the Digital Twins, the Digital Twin Engine, the Destination Earth Data Lake (DEDL), and the Destination Earth Service Platform (DESP) - supported by experts from the three Entrusted Entities ECMWF, ESA, EUMETSAT and their partners.

On the morning of 9 June, DG CNECT and DG CLIMA will organise the “Bridging the Gap: Climate Adaptation Meets Destination Earth” workshop, bringing together European Commission DG representatives working on climate adaptation, resilience and related policy areas. It will provide an opportunity to explore how DestinE can support Europe’s climate adaptation efforts, exchange with the DestinE community, and share practical needs, gaps and challenges related to climate data, tools and services. Co-design participants can express their interest through the registration form.

Alongside these deep dives, participants may engage in “what if” scenario explorations focused on selected impact sectors such as energy, water, agriculture, and urban resilience. These sessions will apply DestinE capabilities to concrete user contexts and explore how DestinE data and models can support operational and policy-relevant use cases.
