The ECMWF AI Weather Quest is a WMO-endorsed international initiative using artificial intelligence and machine learning to advance sub-seasonal weather forecasting.
Join us on Thursday 24 September 2026 at 13:00 UTC for a special annual webinar, organised by ECMWF in collaboration with WMO as part of the WMO AI Webinar series.
The session will celebrate the achievements of the first year of the AI Weather Quest, share scientific insights gained, and present the latest seasonal rankings.
Leading teams from China, Europe and the United States will present their approaches and lessons learned, followed by discussion and questions from the community. ECMWF will also introduce the next phase of the Quest and its continuation as a long-term international benchmarking and learning framework.
Join us to hear directly from some of the Quest’s leading teams and reflect on the progress made by the international AI weather forecasting community.
