ECMWF provides forecasts in various formats, including raw data and interactive and static maps available through services like ecCharts and Open Charts.
While the general public can download static maps from Open Charts catalogue, national meteorological services of ECMWF Member and Cooperating states can benefit from downloading customised maps from ecCharts using Web Map Service, or importing them into their own portals.
In this workshop, we will present WMS service at ECMWF, give an overview of our graphical products and showcase using WMS clients such as OpenLayers and ipyleaflet in Jupyter notebooks, as well as custom workstations, to import and work with these maps efficiently. We will also present how to download customised maps using batch scripts.
Whether you're a beginner or experienced user, this workshop will offer valuable insights and practical information to make the most out of ECMWF's forecast services.
