Background
UEF2024 will be different from the usual 'Using ECMWF’s Forecasts' event. In 2024, it will be an online only event spanning two days – Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 June 2024. The reason for this year’s format and duration is that in 2025 ECMWF will reach its 50th anniversary, so the whole of 2025 will serve to highlight what has been achieved so far and how to continue to deliver the best possible data in the midst of the many challenges and opportunities the world is facing. Part of the anniversary events will include an in-person and online 'Using ECMWF’s Forecasts' event (in Bologna in September 2025). Further details will be announced in due course.
Format
The two-day online event in 2024 will be packed with insightful updates on ECMWF products and services. Especially information on the upcoming 49r1 model cycle and the progress on our innovative activities on Machine Learning and AI are aspects looking forward to.
Attendance
There is no need for theme or abstract submissions for UEF2024. So, register, sit back and listen to the talks.
Further Information
User engagement is a key part of ECMWF, therefore, to complement UEF2024 we aim to run small scale side events/meetings at other meteorological events in the second half of 2024 so we can listen to our forecast users in-person and gather feedback. Please look out for these announcements in the coming months.
